OSHC Coordinator / Lead Educator

Patches Therapy Services provides integrated education, care and allied health services to support children and families. Our OSHC services provide safe, inclusive and engaging environments where children can participate, learn and develop. Our model also provides opportunities to work collaboratively with allied health professionals to support children with diverse needs. We are seeking an experienced OSHC Coordinator / Lead Educator to provide day-to-day leadership across our OSHC services across two primary school OSHC locations in Perth's western suburbs. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, plus additional hours on Friday. This is a mid-senior leadership role with a strong focus on compliance, quality and accountability. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the service, leading educators, maintaining compliance and ensuring the service is organised and assessment-ready. We are looking for someone who is confident, proactive and able to take responsibility and ownership, identify issues and ensure actions are followed through. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Coordination - Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to OSHC educators and casual staff. - Lead, mentor and support educators to maintain high standards of practice. - Ensure educators understand and meet their responsibilities. - Support staff onboarding, induction, training and development. - Promote a positive, professional and collaborative team culture. - Address operational issues and escalate matters appropriately. - Support effective staffing, supervision and daily operations. - Hold team members accountable for completing required responsibilities. OSHC Operations - Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the OSHC service. - Ensure children are appropriately supervised and supported. - Support the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate and inclusive programs and activities. - Support Term Time and Vacation Care programs. - Build positive relationships with children, families, schools and stakeholders. - Promote inclusion, participation, wellbeing and child safety. - Work collaboratively with Patches allied health professionals where required. Compliance and Quality - Maintain compliance with applicable Education and Care legislation, Regulations, the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS) and relevant WA requirements. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date service compliance documentation. - Monitor staff compliance requirements and follow up outstanding items. - Maintain records relating to incidents, injuries, hazards, risk assessments, excursions and other compliance matters. - Ensure policies and procedures are implemented in practice. - Identify compliance gaps and ensure corrective actions are completed. - Support the development, implementation and review of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). - Contribute to continuous improvement activities. - Ensure records are accurate, organised and audit/assessment-ready. - Support preparation for regulatory visits, assessments, audits and compliance reviews. - Escalate significant compliance, safety or child protection concerns promptly. Child Safety and Risk Management - Promote a strong child-safe culture. - Maintain appropriate supervision and safety practices. - Support risk assessments and risk management processes. - Ensure incidents, injuries, hazards and concerns are appropriately documented and reported. - Ensure mandatory child safety requirements are followed. - Promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of every child. Administration - Maintain accurate attendance, enrolment and booking records. - Support registrations and bookings through relevant systems, including FullyBooked. - Communicate professionally with families. - Maintain operational and compliance records. - Assist with reporting and administrative requirements. - Ensure documentation is accurate and completed within required timeframes. About You: - 5+ years experience in OSHC, Early Childhood Education, Children's Services or a related field, including substantial experience in a senior or leadership capacity. - 4 to 5+ years of leadership experience in roles such as OSHC Coordinator, Lead Coordinator, Service Leader, Team Leader, Lead Educator, Room Leader, Supervisor, Nominated Supervisor or a similar senior leadership role. - Strong experience leading educators and coordinating day-to-day service operations. - Demonstrated OSHC compliance experience. - Strong understanding of the NQF, NQS and relevant Education and Care requirements. - Experience with QIP, continuous improvement and audit/assessment preparation. - Strong knowledge of child safety, supervision, risk management and incident reporting. - Excellent organisation and administration skills. - Ability to identify compliance gaps and ensure actions are followed through. - Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, schools and staff. - Vacation Care and Term Time experience is highly desirable. - A strong sense of responsibility, accountability and ownership. Nominated Supervisor Experience: Previous experience as a Nominated Supervisor is highly desirable, but not essential. Candidates who have not formally held the Nominated Supervisor title but have demonstrated strong senior service leadership, operational and compliance experience will also be considered. Desirable Qualifications: - Bachelor of Education, Early Childhood Education or another relevant education qualification. - Nominated Supervisor experience. - Experience supporting children with additional needs or in inclusive education. - Experience working alongside allied health professionals. Mandatory Requirements: - Current Working With Children Check (WWCC). - Current First Aid and CPR certification as required. - Required child safe
